Neuausrichtung beim European Elvis Festival
Stadt Bad Nauheim und Elvis-Presley-Gesellschaft
beenden Kooperation
Bad Nauheim. Nach über einem Jahrzehnt erfolgreicher Partnerschaft gehen die Stadt Bad Nauheim und die Elvis-Presley-Gesellschaft e.V. (EPG) getrennte Wege. Die Kooperation zur Organisation des European Elvis Festivals wird im besten Einvernehmen beendet. Bereits das kommende Festival vom 14. bis 16. August wird von der Stadt Bad Nauheim in alleiniger Verantwortung geplant und durchgeführt.
Dankbarer Rückblick auf eine erfolgreiche Ära
„Mit Unterstützung der EPG haben wir das Festival zu einem international gefeierten Highlight für die Fans des King of Rock 'n' Roll entwickelt und so Bad Nauheims Ruf als ‚European Home of Elvis‘ signifikant gestärkt“, blickt Erster Stadtrat und Kulturdezernent Peter Krank zurück. „Das Herzblut und die Expertise des Vereins haben diesen Erfolg erst möglich gemacht. Dafür gebührt der EPG und ihren Mitgliedern unser aufrichtiger Dank.“
Strategische Gründe für die Neuaufstellung
Die Entscheidung zur Neuaufstellung ist das Ergebnis strategischer Überlegungen auf beiden Seiten. Während die Stadt eine konzeptionelle und wirtschaftliche Weiterentwicklung anstrebte, um die Zukunftsfähigkeit des Festivalerlebnisses zu sichern, hat sich auch die EPG e.V. entschieden, im Sinne ihrer Satzung, neue Wege zu gehen. Im Zuge dieser Entwicklungen zeigten sich unterschiedliche Vorstellungen, weshalb die Trennung als logischer gemeinsamer Schritt erfolgte.
Einvernehmliche Trennung mit Blick in die Zukunft
Beide Seiten betonen den freundschaftlichen Charakter der Entscheidung und haben sich gegenseitige Unterstützung zugesichert. „Ein guter Austausch und die grundsätzliche Bereitschaft für künftige gemeinsame Projekte bestehen selbstverständlich weiterhin“, erklärt Maria Hesterberg, 1. Vorsitzende der EPG.
Festival wird weiterentwickelt
Stadtrat Krank ergänzt: „Die Organisation des European Elvis Festivals liegt nun vollständig in städtischer Hand. Wir werden das Festival mit vollem Engagement weiterentwickeln, um das einzigartige Erbe von Elvis Presley in Bad Nauheim zu ehren und für Fans aus aller Welt auch in Zukunft erlebbar zu machen.“

Bad Nauheim. After more than a decade of working together successfully, the City of Bad Nauheim and the Elvis Presley Gesellschaft e.V. (EPG) are going their separate ways. The partnership around organising the European Elvis Festival is ending on friendly terms. The upcoming festival, taking place from 14 to 16 August, will be planned and run entirely by the City of Bad Nauheim.
Looking back with gratitude on a great chapter
“With the support of the EPG, we turned the festival into an internationally celebrated highlight for fans of the King of Rock ’n’ Roll and significantly strengthened Bad Nauheim’s reputation as the ‘European Home of Elvis’ ”, says First Deputy Mayor and Head of Culture Peter Krank. “The passion and expertise of the society made this success possible in the first place. For that, the EPG and its members deserve our sincere thanks.”
Strategic reasons behind the change
The decision to move in a new direction is the result of strategic considerations on both sides. While the city wanted to further develop the festival conceptually and financially to secure its long-term future, the EPG also decided to explore new paths in line with its statutes. As these developments unfolded, different ideas emerged, making an amicable split the logical step for everyone involved.
An amicable split with an eye on the future
Both sides stress that the decision was made in a friendly spirit and have assured each other of continued mutual support. “There is, of course, still a good dialogue and a general openness to working together on future projects,” says Maria Hesterberg, Chair of the EPG.
Festival to continue and evolve
Peter Krank adds: “The European Elvis Festival is now fully in the hands of the city. We will continue to develop the festival with full commitment, honouring Elvis Presley’s unique legacy in Bad Nauheim and making it an unforgettable experience for fans from all over the world for years to come.”
